Special Session on Evolutionary Data Science (EDaS)
The field of data science focuses on building reliable, and efficient predictive models from a large dataset. On the other hand, evolutionary computation is appropriate for automatic processing of large-scale data for optimal parameter tuning and to extract significant knowledge that is hidden in the data. The combination of both is a research attraction for engineering and computer scientists. The motivation of organizing this special session at the 2021 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation is to integrate the most recent research ideas of data science and evolutionary computation. The session seeks to promote the discussion and presentation of novel works related with (but not limited to) the following issues:
- Novel theoretical data science methods of evolutionary computation
- Modelling and optimization of processes using data mining
- Action rule mining using evolutionary data science
- Pre-processing and data analysis using evolutionary computation
- Address uncertainty in data mining using evolutionary computation
- Memetic algorithms in data science
- Parameter setting (tuning and control) in constrained optimization
- Mixed (discrete-continuous) variable handling using evolutionary data science
- Theoretical analysis and complexity of algorithms in evolutionary data science
- Time series based evolutionary data science
- Soft computing for data mining
- Evolutionary computation techniques for live streaming data
- Distributed computing in evolutionary data science
- Engineering and scientific applications
